Stroud Court appoints a new CEO

On the 1st January 2024, the Trust, commenced an exciting change and introduced Sean as the new CEO; he takes over after Chris Atkins, the long-standing CEO of 20+ years decided to take a phased retirement.

Here’s what Sean had to say:

“I am extremely lucky to take over from Chris and such a well-established organisation, which is supported by a fantastic team of individuals. I am extremely passionate about Stroud Court as it has been my life since 2009!

After joining Stroud Court back in September 2009, I knew that it was a place that I would settle and commit to; since then, I have built close relationships with the people that we support and all of the staff.

My vision is for us to become one of the leading care providers in the region (South West) and achieve that ‘Outstanding’ rating that all care providers strive for.

With some exciting developments on the horizon, I intend to take full advantage of the strengths that we have here as an organisation and put them to full use to create an environment that is transparent, engaging and seeks to develop people’s full potential.”

The Trust is moving into an exciting time of development and intends to make some significant changes to its buildings to ensure that they are suitable for another 40 years to come.

After speaking to Jane Fenwick (Chair of the Board), she had the following to say; “After many years of dedication Chris Atkins, our CEO, has decided to step back from his role. We are so grateful for all that Chris has done and achieved in making Stroud Court the wonderful place that it is for all the people we support.

Chris will act in a supportive position for Sean Timbrell, our new CEO. Sean has been part of the Senior Management Team for some years and we are confident in his ability to lead the Trust going forwards.

I would like to express my personal thanks to Chris and for the times we have spent together.

I look forward to the new chapter of Stroud Court and working with Sean on new exciting projects.”
