Stroud court community trust is celebrating after being awarded £8,396 of National Lottery funding from Sport England to install outdoor fitness equipment to support keeping autistic adults active.

The grant will allow stroud court to bring their project ‘removing barriers to keep autistic adults active’ to life. the award will enable the purchase of 5 pieces outdoor fitness equipment that will help the people they support to keep active in a familiar environment that is safe and free from over stimulation and distractions.

stroud court community trust is a residential home for autistic adults on the outskirts of nailsworth. currently supporting 32 autistic adults to lead a meaningful life. stroud court seeks to “work together to create an environment that aims to improve wellbeing and opportunities for all”.

sean timbrell, ceo at Stroud Court, is thrilled to have been awarded the funding:

“We are delighted to have secured this investment which means we will be able to install some outdoor fitness equipment. The people that we support often use similar equipment when out and about but unfortunately, it’s not always accessible to all due to the nature of the location of such equipment. Our project, along with the support of the National Lottery will help remove these barriers and provide opportunities to all of the people that we support to remain active.
