Care Awards 2024
Stroud Court recently attending the Care Awards 2024, held by the Gloucestershire’s Care Providers Association (GCPA) over at Cheltenham Racecourse. An evening of celebrating achievements and this time it included some of our own success. Both Sean, Katie and the West Bank team received nominations for various awards including The Leadership Award, Support Worker of the Year and Team of the Year.
It was great to see both Sean receive winner of his category and Katie receiving a highly commended award for her efforts throughout the year.
Here is what the GCPA had to say:
The winner of The Leadership Award 2024 – Sean Timbrell of Stroud Court Community Trust.
Sean, the CEO of Stroud Court Community Trust has shown outstanding leadership since taking on the role in January 2024. The judges were impressed with his balance of focus on the business and providing the best service possible to the service users with ensuring he has a motivated workforce.
He spends his time coaching and mentoring staff and service users, supporting his leadership team in leading their own staff. Sean’s passion and commitment to the sector goes above and beyond.
It was super to see Katie receive a highly commended award as she has worked incredibly hard throughout the year and it was a fantastic way to finish off her year ahead of starting her new role as a Senior Support Worker with the Trust.

Although West Bank did not win an award, they were up against some tough competition and a high amount of nominations for their category. There work and nomination was received due to their hard work throughout the year during what has been an incredibly tough time for them. It has not gone unnoticed.
Following the success of the awards, both Sean and Katie have now received nominations for the Great British Care Awards 2025 – we wish them luck next year.
