Our Coordinator
It has been an interesting couple of years in the Coordinators’ Office Stroud Court, we have had to adapt to new challenges that no one could have predicted. The pandemic affected our office significantly, not only due to the shortage of care staff but because we were heavily involved in the testing of staff across the site as well as other duties that needed attending. I am just one person in an office of five people and each one of us took on extra work to get the jobs done effectively. We are a solid team and thoroughly enjoy working alongside each other.
One of the hardest parts of the role of the Coordinator is getting the shifts covered particularly at short notice, but the Care team have showed an excellent degree of resilience, having to be flexible and going above and beyond. Although our main duties are very different, the Coordinators and the Care teams work closely together to reach the same goal; our main concern is always providing the very best care in a consistent approach for every one of our residents. Communication between the care team and ourselves is pivotal for this approach to work. Our clients are happy, incidents have been low and this is recognition that we are all doing are jobs to the very best of our ability.
I am happy to say life at Stroud Court appears to be returning to some normality, there is a buzz back in the atmosphere and its lovely seeing the clients go about their business again. Teams are once again able to get together without restrictions. We have recently been focusing on allowing all the Care teams to go out for a team-building day, to encourage teams to bond and regroup after what has been a stressful couple of years. The days out have been a big success across the site and the Coordinators are now ready to have one for themselves!
